What is the recommended dose for Qualia Senolytic?

The recommended dose for Qualia Senolytic is 6 capsules a day on 2 consecutive days each month. 

This means that we recommend taking all the capsules in a box of Qualia Senolytic spread out over 2 days, followed by about 4 weeks where you won’t take any Qualia Senolytic capsules.

What should I expect when I take Qualia Senolytic?

As we age, senescent cells accumulate, but where they accumulate, and what aspects of healthy function they may influence, can vary person-to-person: for some people it may be the skin, for other people it may be fat or muscle tissue, for others it could be the brain, joints, immune system, etc. Because of this, there is no one way that Qualia Senolytic is experienced.* 

With the above in mind, the areas you should expect benefits are the areas that are typically most impacted during aging, so pay attention to signs of healthier skin, muscles, joints and brain functions, as well as overall health and energy, after two-to-three months of taking Qualia Senolytic.*

Should I be concerned about fisetin’s bioavailability?

Most polyphenols—fisetin included—are relatively poorly absorbed through the gut barrier. But science has been showing more and more that they can also act locally inside the gut and may exert effects through the gut-brain axis as well. So bioavailability is only part of the potential efficacy equation. Because of this, our science team puts much more weight on scientific studies evaluating body & brain responses over bioavailability. And, big picture, despite evidence suggesting poor bioavailability there are a lot of studies suggesting beneficial support for the brain & body even from poorly absorbed polyphenols. Even with quercetin, most of the senolytic studies to date have been with standard quercetin. We opted for Quercefit® because it was what was used in a human senolytic study, is being investigated in other human senolytic studies, and has been used in human clinical studies in other health areas (so has demonstrated brain & body support benefits)—so Quercefit® has much science behind it in addition to the evidence for its bioavailability.*

The data on the bioavailability of fisetin is a main reason that the Mayo Clinic chose to use a high dose of fisetin in their senolytic studies, and why we are recommending the 1400 mg/day dose of fisetin (which for a person of average weight matches the Mayo dose). In published animal studies of fisetin, oral fisetin in this human-equivalent dose range has supported the management of senescence cells, which is the main outcome we care about (not bioavailability). We think the recommended dose included in Qualia Senolytic is sufficient taking into account the data on fisetin’s low bioavailability, but we would not be as confident that the doses we've seen in other supplements claiming a senescent cell benefit (often 100 mg and sometimes a bit more) would provide the intended support.*

Is it okay to split the dose of Qualia Senolytic between different meals?

Yes. If you want to take part of the Qualia Senolytic with one meal (such as breakfast) and part with another meal (like lunch or dinner) or spread equally between three meals on the days you take it, that would be fine.

How can I ensure I get the most out of Qualia Senolytic?

Qualia Senolytic is intended to be a great complement to other Qualia products, especially the first product we created in our Longevity line, Qualia Life. To get the most out of Qualia Life, we recommend that you take Qualia Life throughout the month.

Behaviors and strategies that support immune system performance would be expected to also complement Qualia Senolytic.* We recommend focusing on: (1) Consistently getting enough quality sleep—sleep is a major determinant of how well the immune system performs; (2) Regularly exercising in ways that create fitness—being sedentary and excessive exercise can both weaken immune performance (think Goldilocks principle when it comes to exercise); (3) Managing stress—higher stress is hard on the immune system; and (4) Practicing some type of fasting behavior for several days every three months or so—Valter Longo’s (interviewed on Collective Insight Podcast) fasting-mimicking diet is an example of one of these approaches; it helps rejuvenate immune cells*. And, of course, eating a healthy diet is important for immune system health.

The intermittent fasting window I follow means that the first food I eat isn’t till later in the day. When should I take Qualia Senolytic?

It’s fine to wait to take Qualia Senolytic until whatever time of day you eat your first food.

Is it okay if I have my child or teenager take Qualia Senolytic?

Qualia Senolytic should not be taken by children or teenagers. Qualia Senolytic was created to support healthy aging in adults, especially adults as they get into the age ranges where they are experiencing aging. By our late 20’s, most of us will begin noticing changes caused by getting older. 

By our 40’s, we’ve gone beyond noticing …we are usually feeling the aging process. Qualia Senolytic was created to provide support for these age groups and older.*

Can I take Qualia Senolytic while intermittent fasting?

Yes. We consider Qualia Senolytic to be compatible with intermittent fasting. It does not contain any significant amount of the caloric units of energy found within food (carbohydrates, protein, and fat) that may disrupt a fasting period.

Should I take Qualia Senolytic with food?

Our general recommendation is to take Qualia Senolytic with food. The reason for this recommendation is because (1) with food is the most common way senolytics have been used in studies, and (2) Qualia Senolytic contains concentrated food extracts, some of which may be more bioavailable if taken with food.* 

When we tested Qualia Senolytic prior to launch, some participants chose to take it with food and others took it without food. So, if taking supplements on an empty stomach is something that you tolerate well and find more convenient, feel free to take it without food.
