The recommended dose of Qualia Focus contains 100 mg of caffeine. The nootropic range for caffeine for most people is in the range of 50-200 mg. To get the best overall nootropic experience from Qualia Focus, we recommend avoiding other products that contain caffeine in an amount that would, when combined with Qualia Focus, supply more than 200 mg of caffeine.
Qualia Focus was designed to be taken near the start of your day. This is true for most things with caffeine, since caffeine later in the day or at night may interfere with sleep.
While there are no special instructions for getting started, we’ve found a good way to start is to take your dose of Qualia Focus about 1-2 hour after waking with a large glass of water.
Yes. It’s perfectly fine to only take a 1 capsule dose. In fact, some people prefer taking a lower dose of nootropics. We encourage you to find a dose that you feel best supports the cognitive performance results you expect from a nootropic product.
Women who are pregnant or nursing.
Children and teenagers under the age of 18.
Check with your doctor before taking Qualia Focus if…
you are currently taking any prescription medications.
you have a diagnosed medical condition.
you are concerned about taking it for any reason.
Qualia Focus contains 100 mg of caffeine in the recommended 2 capsules serving size. Caffeine, especially when used prior to exercise, is very commonly dosed based on body weight in clinical studies. However, because the amount of caffeine contained in a 2-capsule dose would be in the range of what’s been used in studies even in persons with low body weights, we would not consider bodyweight to be particularly important for dosing Qualia Focus. That said, it’s fine to choose to take only a 1 capsule dose of Qualia Focus for any reason, including if a person weighs less.
Yes, for some Qualia products, and for others, on an everyday basis, it will depend on the person. We consider Qualia Focus to be a great complement to Qualia Immune, Qualia Life, Qualia Night, and Qualia Vision. Combining Qualia Focus with other Qualia products would be dependent on a person’s sensitivity to caffeine. Qualia Focus, Qualia Mind, Qualia Mind Essentials, and Qualia Nootropic Energy Shot all contain caffeine and caffeine is not a “more is better” nootropic ingredient. Combining Qualia Focus with either Qualia Mind, Mind Essentials, or Nootropic Energy Shot would supply an amount of caffeine we’d consider to be at the top end of the nootropic range. This is an amount of caffeine that some people prefer but which may be too stimulating for other individuals.
Several ingredients in Qualia Focus—caffeine, American ginseng, L-ornithine, L-theanine, as examples—are fast-acting nootropics. In other words, they are routinely felt later the same day after taking a dose. In our pre-launch testing, alertness and energy were commonly experienced as soon as 30-60 minutes after taking a dose of Qualia Focus. Most participants experienced support in several nootropic areas related to focus, motivation, productivity, and stress resilience during the first week of taking Qualia Focus.☨

Qualia Focus was formulated to extend the nootropic benefits of caffeine (i.e., alertness, energy, attention, and mood), and to counter the caffeine crash and the jitteriness that can follow caffeine an hour or several hours later. This is one of the reasons it contains ingredients including L-theanine, L-ornithine, and American ginseng. In our pre-launch testing, about six out of ten participants felt the sustained nootropic benefits for 4 to 8 hours or more after taking Qualia Focus. 77% (almost 8 out of ten participants) felt benefits for at least several hours.☨

There’s no safety concern in taking Qualia Focus and Qualia Nootropic Energy Shot, though we think of them more as “either/or” rather than “both together” products. Another part of the reason is that both contain caffeine. And, the last part of the reason is that they have an overlap in several other ingredients (e.g., Celastrus, L-theanine, American ginseng).
Taking a full dose of Qualia Focus with Qualia Nootropic Energy Shot would deliver 190 mg of caffeine, which is within the 50-200 mg range where caffeine performs exceptionally well as a nootropic. For people who are not sensitive to this amount of caffeine, there is no reason why Qualia Focus and Qualia Nootropic Energy Shot can’t be used together.
Qualia Focus has an expiration date on the bottle, usually on the bottom of the bottle under the lot number. Look for EXP and a number, such as EXP 04/2023, which means the expiration date for the bottle would be the end of April in 2023.
